Details of the Attack Near the Pyramid of the Moon

The attacker was identified as 27-year-old Julio Cesar Jasso Ramirez from Mexico City. Armed with a gun and a knife, he climbed to the first step of the Mayan pyramid and opened fire on a crowd of visitors. The victims sustained injuries from both gunfire and falls while trying to escape.

According to police reports, the attacker was wearing a t-shirt with the phrase “disconnect and self-destruct” along with an image created by artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, photos from the scene show that the man was wearing a mask and a checkered shirt.

In a video circulated on social media, a woman can be heard screaming, “Call the police!” against the backdrop of gunfire sounds.

Government Response and Investigation
