Schedule and Key Audience for SEC Meetings
As part of this initiative, the SEC plans to visit 10 cities across the United States. The goal of these roundtables is to establish direct communication with the founders of young crypto projects who were unable to participate in the spring consultations in Washington. Special attention is given to startups founded less than two years ago, with teams of up to 10 people.
“We want to hear from those who could not come to the roundtables that took place in the spring in Washington and who had no voice in previous policy-making efforts. The cryptocurrency working group is well aware that any regulatory framework will have far-reaching consequences, and we want to ensure maximum coverage in our work,” Peirce stated.
Calendar and Cities for the Events
The first roundtable will take place on August 4 in Berkeley, California. Following this, the working group will hold meetings in the following cities:
- August 4 — Berkeley (California);
- August 19 — Boston;
- September 4 — Dallas;
- September 15 — Chicago;
- September 25 — New York;
- October 3 — Irvine (California);
- October 24 — Cleveland;
- October 29 — Scottsdale (Arizona);
- November 12 — New York;
- December 5 — Ann Arbor (Michigan).
The SEC has emphasized that to ensure transparency in the process and trust in the initiative, the list of startups selected to participate in the roundtables will be published publicly.
It is worth noting that on April 11, 2025, the SEC already held its first specialized roundtable dedicated to cryptocurrency trading, demonstrating increased attention to the development of the digital asset market in the U.S.
