Ryanair and Wizz Air Cancel International Flights from Polish Airports This Winter

Leading European low-cost airlines Ryanair and Wizz Air have announced the cancellation of several popular international routes from Polish airports. This decision has been made due to the seasonal decrease in demand for air travel during the winter.

Reasons for Route Review

The companies explain that during the winter period, the number of passengers on certain routes significantly decreases, which is why some flights will be suspended or completely removed from the schedule for this season. Representatives of the carriers emphasize that these decisions are temporary and may be reviewed if demand recovers.

Which Routes Have Been Canceled

In Gdańsk, three international routes have been canceled. In particular, Wizz Air is discontinuing flights to Beauvais-Tillé in France, located about 80 km from Paris. Despite its distance from the capital, this route was popular among tourists. Now, flights to Beauvais-Tillé will be operated by Ryanair: twice a week in winter and five times a week in the summer season.

Wizz Air has also removed the Gdańsk – Leeds (UK) route from its schedule, which was previously operated twice a week.

At Kraków-Balice Airport, the Kraków – Bologna route, also serviced by Wizz Air, has been canceled. This significantly reduces the available options for travel to Italy during the cold season.

Ryanair has temporarily suspended flights on the Gdańsk – Riga route. The carrier does not rule out that the connection may be restored if demand increases in the future.
