Russians attacked oil and gas infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk region with drones

On the night of May 18, a large-scale attack by Russian troops occurred on energy sector facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Enemy drones struck a number of enterprises of the Naftogaz group, including the filling station complex of JSC Ukrnafta. As a result of the shelling, two female employees of the filling station were injured and are currently under medical supervision.

Consequences of the enemy strike

According to preliminary information, as a result of the attack, the premises and equipment of the filling station complex were completely destroyed. It is currently impossible to assess the full scale of the destruction due to ongoing shelling, which complicates access to the affected facilities. Emergency services are working at the scene, and all details of the attack’s consequences are being clarified.

“Several drones struck a critical infrastructure facility. Due to ongoing shelling, it is currently impossible to fully assess the scale of the destruction. Among the attacked facilities is also the UKRNAFTA filling station complex. As a result of the strike, two employees were injured, and they are receiving necessary medical assistance.”

Targeted strike on civilian infrastructure

The head of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretskyi, emphasized that all the facilities that were attacked are purely civilian infrastructure and have no relation to military objectives. Currently, relevant services continue to work to eliminate the consequences of the shelling and support the affected.

In addition, Russian troops used missiles, drones, artillery, and aerial bombs to attack six districts of Dnipropetrovsk region. A total of 26 people were injured, indicating an increasing threat to the civilian population of the region.
