Fourth day of strikes on energy facilities

Throughout the day, drone attacks continued over the company’s facilities, and in the evening, Russian troops used missile weapons. Several infrastructure facilities were hit, resulting in damage to production equipment. According to the company, this is already the fourth consecutive day of targeted strikes on Naftogaz’s assets.

“In the evening, the Russians launched a missile strike on Naftogaz’s oil and gas infrastructure in the Chernihiv region. Prior to this, the drone attack had been ongoing throughout the day. Several facilities were under fire at once,” the statement said.

Despite significant damage to the equipment, the personnel at the production facilities were not harmed. As reported by the company’s press service, after stabilizing the security situation, specialists will begin assessing the consequences and restoration work.

Scale of destruction and company losses

In recent weeks, Naftogaz’s infrastructure has repeatedly suffered massive shelling from the Russian Federation. In particular, on the morning of May 19, several more of the company’s facilities in the Chernihiv region were attacked. The day before, a ballistic strike on oil and gas infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region was recorded, and last week, a large-scale shelling with ballistic missiles targeted facilities in the Poltava region.

According to official data from the company, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, 324 employees of the “Naftogaz Group” have died. The chairman of the board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Serhiy Koretsky stated that since the beginning of 2026, Russia has carried out 96 attacks on the company’s facilities. All areas of the company’s operations – from oil and gas extraction and transportation to thermal energy and gas station complexes – are subjected to systematic shelling.
