Throughout the current day, 189 combat clashes have been recorded along the front line, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its evening briefing. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to actively repel the enemy’s advance, destroying its personnel and exhausting the combat potential of the occupiers through systematic strikes.

Situation in key directions
In the South Slobozhansk, Kupiansk, Lyman, and Sloviansk directions, the Defense Forces successfully repelled assaults by Russian troops. At the same time, in the Kramatorsk and Orikhiv directions, the Russian army did not show significant activity.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 11 enemy attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, and Dovha Balka. In the Pokrovsk direction, throughout the day, the occupiers launched 40 attacks, attempting to advance in the areas of Dorožne, Rodynske, Oleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Novopavlivka, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Molodetske, as well as in the directions of Kucheryv Yar, Vilne, Serhiivka, and Hruzke. As of the evening, two clashes were still ongoing.
Attacks in other sections of the front
According to the command, Russian troops attempted twice to improve their positions in the Oleksandrivka direction in the areas of Oleksandrograd and Berezove. Two more assault attempts were stopped by Ukrainian defenders in the Dnipro direction in the areas of the Antonivskyi Bridge and the Bilohrudyi Island.
In the Huliaipole direction, 16 attacks were recorded near Rivnopillia, Radisne, Rybne, Dobropillia, Olenokostiantynivka, Novo Zaporizhzhia, Staroukrainka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, does not rule out the possibility of new offensive actions by the Russian Federation from the side of Belarus. As of May 8, he assessed that the Russian army had intensified offensive operations along almost the entire front line, with the most challenging situation remaining in the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy has concentrated approximately 106,000 troops.
Experts from the American Institute for the Study of War noted in their report on May 10 that over the past year, Russian troops have not achieved significant successes on the battlefield, while Ukrainian defenders demonstrate effectiveness in repelling the enemy.
