Local authorities urged residents not to approach the discovered debris and to immediately report it to the police or the State Emergency Service for safety reasons.

“The enemy drone attacked the Main Directorate of the SBU in the Lviv region. There is damage”

Preliminary information indicates that there are no casualties from this attack, and relevant services are working at the scene. As of the time of the attack, the SBU had not commented on the information regarding the strike on its building in Lviv.

Context of Mass Shelling and Qualification of Actions by the Russian Federation

Earlier, a similar attack by a Russian drone in Volyn led to a power outage in the Novovolynsk community. Such shelling using strike drones, rockets, and multiple launch rocket systems is regularly carried out by Russian military forces against Ukrainian cities and critical civilian infrastructure in various regions of the country.

The Ukrainian authorities, along with international organizations, regard such targeted strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation. It is noted that attacks on life-support systems, medical institutions, and other facilities necessary for the normal life of the population exhibit signs of genocidal actions. During the full-scale war, the Russian Federation has declared intentions to destroy the Ukrainian nation, made public calls for destruction, shelled critical infrastructure, persecuted pro-Ukrainian populations in occupied territories, destroyed the intelligentsia, deported children, and deliberately stolen cultural values.

The leadership of the Russian Federation publicly denies carrying out targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities and villages, as well as the destruction of energy, water supply, hospitals, schools, and kindergartens during the full-scale invasion.

It is worth reminding that according to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, adopted by the UN General Assembly, participating countries are obligated to prevent acts of genocide and punish them in both wartime and peacetime. The Convention defines genocide as actions aimed at the complete or partial destruction of a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.
