Consequences of the Airstrike on Stepanyvka
At approximately 10:50, three guided bombs from Russia hit the center of the village. One of them completely destroyed the local school building. Among the injured are three men, a 14-year-old boy, and another local resident. All of them sustained blast injuries, concussions, and varying degrees of traumatic brain injuries. One of the injured, the father of the teenager, is in critical condition, and medical staff are fighting for his life.
“The hospital building and surrounding houses were also damaged. Four people were injured: three men and a 14-year-old boy. Our medical staff are currently fighting for the life of the boy’s father — he is in critical condition. The teenager sustained moderate injuries,” said Oleksandr Prokudin.
In total, among the injured are a 52-year-old, a 57-year-old, a 66-year-old, a 71-year-old man, and a 14-year-old teenager. It has been reported that all of them have sustained blast injuries of varying severity.
Attacks on Kherson and Other Areas
During the rescue operation, shelling did not cease. Russian troops employed a “double strike” tactic, attempting to inflict maximum harm on the civilian population and emergency service workers. Apartment buildings and private homes, a pharmacy, and a dental clinic were damaged.
On the same morning, the Ship District of Kherson came under fire. As a result of the shelling, two women (71 and 77 years old) and two men (60 years old and an unidentified citizen) were killed. Six more people, including four women and two men aged between 60 and 81, sustained blast, traumatic brain, and shrapnel injuries. One of the victims had a toe amputated due to severe injuries.
During the shelling of the Ship District, according to the head of the regional military administration, the Russians continuously targeted residential buildings for about half an hour. As a result, significant damage was inflicted on a store, a pharmacy, and several apartments in high-rise buildings.
It is worth noting that Russian troops have repeatedly shelled Kherson and its outskirts, often targeting civilian objects — transport, residential areas, and infrastructure. Such attacks are considered war crimes against the civilian population.
