Russia Strikes Gas Extraction Facilities of ‘DTEK Naftogaz’ in Poltava Region

On the night of October 16, the Russian Federation launched a missile and drone attack on the Poltava region, resulting in damage to the gas extraction facilities of ‘DTEK Naftogaz’. As a result of the strike, the operations of the enterprises were temporarily halted.

Consequences of the Attack on Energy Infrastructure

According to the energy company, hostile forces targeted the region’s energy infrastructure using both drones and missiles. This led to damage to the oil and gas complex facilities.

“During the night, the enemy again attacked the energy infrastructure with drones and missiles,” the statement reads.

Gas Supply Situation in Affected Communities

The acting head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Kohut, reported that the attack caused damage to oil and gas industry facilities both from falling debris and direct hits. There were no casualties among the civilian population or workers. However, due to the damage, 6,450 consumers in six settlements of the region were left without gas supply.

Currently, all relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack and restore energy resource supply in the affected areas.
