More than 170 servicemen of the Russian Federation have been involved for the second day in extinguishing a large fire that broke out in the port of Tuapse on the Black Sea following a strike by Ukrainian drones.

The incident occurred on the night of April 16, when drones struck the port and oil refinery in the city of Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai. The fire that resulted from the strike engulfed deep-water oil loading stands, pipeline infrastructure, storage tanks at the marine terminal, and the Tuapse oil refinery. According to local authorities, 177 servicemen of the Russian Federation are involved in the firefighting efforts.
It is known that the oil terminal is the only production complex along with the Tuapse Oil Refinery, which produces gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, and feedstock for petrochemicals. The complex is crucial for ensuring the domestic market and exports and is controlled by the company “Rosneft.”

Confirmed Involvement of Ukrainian Forces and Civilian Casualties
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the strike also hit a multifunctional radar station 50N6E. According to the governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratiev, the port and the plant were subjected to a drone attack, and the scale of the fire was so significant that it was even detected by satellite.
Among the casualties of the shelling are two fatalities, including a 14-year-old girl. The operation was confirmed by the commander of the UAV Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert Brovdi, known as “Madyar,” who noted that the strike was carried out by pilots of the 9th Battalion “Kairós” of the 414th Separate Brigade of UAVs “Madyar Birds.” A corresponding video was released after the attack.
