Russia’s Oil Revenues Increased in July Due to Rising Prices and Possible Production Boost

In July 2025, the Russian Federation’s revenues from oil and petroleum product exports rose by $0.9 billion, reaching $14.32 billion. The main factor behind this increase was the rise in global oil prices, which positively impacted the earnings of Russian exporters.

Export and Production Indicators

A detailed analysis shows that oil export revenues increased by $0.46 billion to $8.94 billion. At the same time, sales of petroleum products also rose by $0.47 billion to $5.39 billion. Oil export volumes from Russia in July increased by 0.02 million barrels per day, reaching 4.67 million barrels per day. Exports of petroleum products rose by 0.06 million barrels per day, totaling 2.62 million barrels per day.

According to estimates from the International Energy Agency, Russia produced 9.20 million barrels of oil per day in July, slightly less than in June, when this figure was 9.23 million barrels per day. Experts predict that over the next three months, Russia could increase production to 9.4 million barrels per day and maintain this level for an extended period.

Dynamics of Liquefied Gas Exports

In July, there was a decrease in railway exports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) to 261 thousand tons, which is 5% less compared to the previous month. The main reasons for this were seasonal increases in domestic demand and preventive shutdowns at specialized facilities and gas processing complexes. At the same time, supplies of liquefied gas from Russia to China increased by 44%.
