The average salary in Odesa is 22,500 UAH. It is worth noting that renting housing in this resort city is significantly cheaper than in Kyiv and Lviv. Specifically, the average cost of a one-bedroom apartment is 9,000 UAH per month, a two-bedroom apartment is 12,000 UAH, and a three-bedroom apartment is 23,000 UAH. This means that to rent a one-bedroom apartment, a resident must spend 36% of their average monthly salary, while a couple will pay 20% of their combined income for rent.
Financial Burden for Employees
Analysis shows that some categories of workers spend more than half of their earnings on renting a one-bedroom apartment. In particular, nurses spend 51%, nannies 57%, and cleaners 74%. This indicates a significant financial burden for these professions.
Unrelenting Decline in Real Estate Prices
It is worth reminding that in 2024, experts noted that real estate prices in Odesa had significantly decreased. “I don’t remember being able to buy a one-bedroom apartment in the Arcadia area for 35,000. Such prices exist now,” emphasized Olena Haidamaka, president of the Association of Real Estate Professionals of Ukraine.
