In Ukraine, there has been a significant increase in prices for greenhouse tomatoes, linked to the end of the growing season and a reduction in supply on the market. The situation has been exacerbated by heightened demand ahead of the holidays, which has further impacted vegetable prices.

Rapid Price Increase for Tomatoes
In the past week, greenhouse tomatoes in Ukrainian markets are selling for 80-100 hryvnias per kilogram, depending on the quality of the product and the size of the batches. This is 20% higher than at the end of the previous working week. This trend is explained by a sharp decrease in the volume of domestically produced tomatoes due to the end of the growing season in greenhouses.
Impact of Imported Products
Another factor contributing to the price increase has been the rising cost of imported products. Throughout the week, the price of imported tomatoes has also risen, while their supply remains limited. This has put additional pressure on the market and contributed to the overall increase in prices.
The season for greenhouse tomatoes is effectively coming to an end, and market volumes have decreased, which has immediately affected prices, reports EastFruit.
Experts note that the trend of rising prices may continue, especially with the approach of the holiday season when demand for vegetables traditionally increases.
