In September 2025, Ukrainians purchased 7,000 motorcycles, which is 11.2% higher than the figures for the same period last year. However, sales volumes decreased by 18.1% compared to August. This trend is attributed to traditional seasonality: the market becomes active during the summer months, while demand decreases in the off-season.

Market Structure and Buyer Preferences
The vast majority of registered motorcycles are new models imported from abroad. According to experts, the share of new bikes accounted for 56% or 3,982 units. A total of 2,491 purchase and sale agreements for motorcycles were concluded in the domestic market, representing 35.4% of the total volume. Additionally, 559 used bikes (7.9%) were imported from abroad.
Trends Among Used and New Models
Honda remains the leader among used motorcycles in the domestic market. Chinese brands Lifan and Geon closely follow in second and third place, pushing Yamaha to fourth position. Experts explain this by the active influx of new models from China. It is forecasted that Japanese, American, and German brands will gradually retreat in this segment.
Among the used motorcycles imported from abroad, the ranking is as follows:
- Honda — 160
- Suzuki — 116
- Kawasaki — 89
- Yamaha — 84
- Harley-Davidson — 42
- BMW — 22
- Triumph — 12
- KTM — 6
- Indian — 6
- Ducati — 6
In the segment of new motorcycles in Ukraine, three brands competed for leadership in September: Spark, Lifan, and Musstang. The difference between them was minimal, but these manufacturers topped the TOP-10. Analysts note that only Chinese and Indian brands remain in the top ten most popular new motorcycles.
According to analysts from IDA, motorcycles in Ukraine are increasingly being purchased not for hobbies, but as a primary means of transportation.
