In Ukrainian supermarkets, there has been a noticeable decrease in chicken prices in August 2025 — one of the most popular and affordable types of meat for consumers. According to the latest data, discounts primarily affected chicken thighs and fillets, which are staple items in shoppers’ baskets.

Prices for Chicken Thighs and Fillets Have Fallen
In July, the average price of chicken thighs was 141.35 hryvnias per kilogram. However, as of August 9, the price has dropped to 121.50 hryvnias, which is nearly 20 hryvnias cheaper. This price reduction allows Ukrainians to save on meat purchases, which is especially relevant amid rising costs of other products.
Chicken fillets have also become cheaper: their average price in August is 219.55 hryvnias per kilogram, whereas in July, this product cost 224.49 hryvnias. The decrease in the price of fillets makes this type of meat even more accessible for Ukrainian families.
Price Dynamics for Other Chicken Parts
It is worth noting that against the backdrop of falling prices for thighs and fillets, chicken drumsticks have, on the contrary, become more expensive. Currently, a kilogram of drumsticks costs 117.50 hryvnias, while in July their price was only 94.39 hryvnias. Thus, the cost of chicken drumsticks has increased by more than 20 hryvnias per kilogram.
“The average price of a whole chicken has remained at 119.75 hryvnias for the second month in a row.”
The price of whole chickens remains stable: for the second consecutive month, the average cost of this product is 119.75 hryvnias per kilogram, indicating a certain stability in the pricing policy regarding whole chicken meat.
Changes in chicken prices allow Ukrainian consumers to better plan their purchases, focusing on the most advantageous offers in the market. The prompt response of supermarket chains to market trends contributes to ensuring the availability of meat for a wide range of citizens.
