Ukraine is preparing a significant salary increase for educators: starting from January 1, 2026, teachers’ salaries will rise by 50%. According to MP Ruslan Gorbenko, this initiative will establish the average salary for educational staff at around 30,000 hryvnias per month.

Plans for salary increases for educators
Currently, the average salary of a teacher in Ukraine is about 15,000 hryvnias, and with various allowances, it can reach up to 20,000 hryvnias. According to the announced plans, after the increase, the base salary for educators will rise by half, significantly improving the financial situation of educational workers. It is expected that the increase will affect all categories of teachers, regardless of their experience or length of service.
Support for educators during the war
Ruslan Gorbenko emphasized that the decision to raise salaries is not only an economic step but also a strong support for educators during this challenging time for the country.
“There is a proposal to raise teachers’ salaries by 50%, and the average salary will be about 30,000 UAH. This will take effect from January 1, 2026,” the deputy noted.
According to the MP, this new measure will serve as an important signal for the educational community and will highlight the significance of education for the future of Ukraine.
