Discussion on Accelerating Financial Aid
European diplomats are already planning a meeting to determine the most effective ways to provide financial support to Ukraine as quickly as possible. The loan, intended to assist Kyiv, has long been stalled due to the position of the previous Hungarian government, led by Viktor Orbán, which applied the veto.
Germany’s Position and Future Prospects
According to a spokesperson for the German government, Berlin expects funds to be transferred to Ukraine quickly. He emphasized that the German government is actively working to ensure that aid is provided as soon as possible and is awaiting the final formation of the new cabinet in Hungary.
“There is hope that aid for Ukraine can be provided very quickly. The German government is working on this. Therefore, we look forward to the swift formation of a government in Hungary,” the spokesperson for the German government noted.
Additionally, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz remarked that after Péter Márki-Zay’s victory in the Hungarian elections, the adoption of critically important decisions in the European Union, particularly regarding Russia, will become significantly easier.
