Power Outages in Four Regions of Ukraine Due to New Russian Shelling

Consequences of the Attacks and Restoration of Electricity Supply

Russian troops continue to strike at Ukrainian energy infrastructure, leading to new disruptions in electricity supply. Emergency recovery teams are working in all affected regions as conditions permit.

“The enemy continues to attack Ukrainian energy infrastructure. As a result of the latest shelling, there are new power outages in the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions this morning. Emergency recovery work is already underway wherever security conditions allow”

Due to the consequences of previous large-scale shelling of the energy system, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, power limitation schedules for industrial enterprises are planned to be introduced in all regions of the country. Authorities urge businesses to closely monitor energy usage during these hours.

Recommendations for Household Consumers

As of 9:30 AM on Tuesday, electricity consumption across the country exceeded the previous day’s figure by 1.9%. This is related to overcast weather in many regions, which reduces the productivity of household solar power plants and contributes to an increased load on the overall grid.

In light of this, energy workers recommend shifting the use of high-power electrical appliances to the period from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, when solar power plants operate most efficiently.

The company also emphasizes that during the hours of power limitation for industry, it is advisable to avoid simultaneous use of several high-power appliances at home to reduce the load on the electrical grid.

Furthermore, it has been noted that the Slovak electricity transmission system operator SEPS has officially announced the unilateral termination of the Mutual Emergency Assistance Agreement with Ukraine, which may affect further emergency response efforts.
