In Poland, the cost of vehicle inspections and tolls on the A2 highway will increase from September 2025

Starting from September 19, 2025, the fees for conducting technical inspections of vehicles in Poland will increase. The last price adjustment was over two decades ago, and the current increase will affect all types of vehicles.

New inspection fees for all vehicles

According to the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure, the tariff review will cover the actual costs of technical service stations. The new calculation includes expenses for the salaries of inspectors, maintenance of facilities, utility payments, as well as servicing and repair of equipment. Previous rates were among the lowest in Europe.

From September 19, 2025, the following new rates will apply:

  • passenger cars — 149 zlotys (previously 98 zlotys);
  • motorcycles and agricultural tractors — 94 zlotys (previously 62 zlotys);
  • mopeds — 76 zlotys (previously 50 zlotys);
  • cargo trailers and special trailers up to 3.5 tons — 119 zlotys (previously 78 zlotys);
  • cargo vehicles and special machinery from 3.5 to 16 tons — 234 zlotys (previously 153 zlotys);
  • cargo vehicles and special machinery over 16 tons — 269 zlotys (previously 176 zlotys);
  • vehicles with gas equipment — a specialized inspection fee of 96 zlotys (previously 65 zlotys) is added to the standard price, making the total cost of inspecting a gas-powered passenger car 245 zlotys (previously 163 zlotys).

“These changes will affect every driver who undergoes the mandatory technical inspection of their vehicle after September 19.”

It is worth noting that Ukrainians who permanently reside in Poland must exchange their national driver’s licenses for Polish ones according to the regulation that will take effect in July 2024.

Increase in tolls on the A2 highway

From September 11, 2025, the cost of traveling on the toll sections of the A2 highway — the most expensive in Poland and one of the most expensive in Europe — will also increase. This is the second tariff increase on this route during 2025. The changes will affect the following segments:

  • Nowy Tomyśl — Poznań,
  • Poznań — Września,
  • Września — Konin.

The final new tariffs have not yet been announced, but it is expected that the cost of traveling each section will rise by approximately 1–2 zlotys.
