Overview of Apartment Rental Prices in Ukraine’s Regions in September 2025

The cost of renting apartments in Ukraine continues to gradually rise; however, the rate of price increases generally corresponds to the overall inflation level. According to the State Statistics Service, the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment in August 2025 was 7,712 UAH, which is 6.8% higher than at the beginning of the year. In comparison, the overall inflation during this period was 6.0%.

Regions with the Lowest Rental Prices

The most affordable apartment rentals are observed in the southern and eastern regions of the country. In particular, the cost of renting a one-bedroom apartment in the Kherson region in August 2025 was 3,243 UAH per month. A similar price level was recorded in the Zaporizhzhia (3,843 UAH), Kharkiv (3,942 UAH), and Mykolaiv (3,949 UAH) regions.

At the same time, the highest increase in rental prices over the past year was observed in the Sumy region, where prices rose by 32.2%. Significant price increases also occurred in the Kyiv region, where rents increased by 18.5%.

Regions with the Highest Rental Prices

The Zakarpattia region maintains its lead in rental costs: renting a one-bedroom apartment here costs 12,226 UAH per month. Since the beginning of the year, prices have increased by 3.9%. The second place is held by the Lviv region, where the average rental price rose by 7.6% to 11,244 UAH. Rounding out the top three is the Rivne region, where housing rental prices increased by 4.1% to 10,293 UAH.

The capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, ranks fourth in rental prices. Here, the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment increased by 4.1% and stands at 10,027 UAH.

Overall, the highest rental prices are traditionally recorded in the western and some central regions of the country.
