Road repairs continue at an accelerated pace

According to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, more than 200 teams and nearly 2,000 workers are involved in the repair work. The Ministry of Development and the Recovery Agency have organized maximum acceleration of repair efforts to ensure the proper condition of the transport infrastructure as quickly as possible.

Current repairs on international highways are planned to be completed by May 1, and on national roads by June 1.

Special focus on frontline regions

Particular attention is being paid to roads in frontline regions, where repair work is being conducted in a 40-kilometer zone from the line of combat engagement. The State Special Transport Service units are responsible for these tasks, working in consideration of the current security situation and the priority of routes.

“Roads are a matter of the country’s defense capability, effective logistics, business operations, and ensuring the livelihoods of communities,” emphasized Svyrydenko.

Additionally, Ukraine is testing a pilot project by a Japanese company that recycles construction waste for further use in road construction.
