The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rate for Wednesday, January 7. The dollar to hryvnia rate has risen to 42.56 hryvnias per dollar, marking a new historical high for the American currency in Ukraine. Compared to the previous value, the hryvnia has lost another 14 kopecks. The previous record was set the day before, on January 6, when the dollar rate was 42.42 UAH/USD.

Hryvnia Weakens Against Euro
The official euro exchange rate for January 7 has been set by the National Bank of Ukraine at 49.80 hryvnias per euro. This means that the hryvnia lost 29 kopecks in relation to the European currency in just one day.
The exchange rate of the hryvnia to the euro is set at 49.80 UAH/euro.
Situation on the Interbank Currency Market
As of 16:00, the exchange rate of the hryvnia to the dollar on the interbank currency market of Ukraine fluctuated between 42.58 and 42.61 UAH/USD, while the euro quotations were at 49.81–49.82 UAH/euro. These figures demonstrate a further weakening of the national currency against the backdrop of the overall economic situation in the country.
