North Korea has presented its latest combat tank, capable of effectively destroying drones and intercepting anti-tank missiles. The demonstration took place under the personal guidance of the country’s leader Kim Jong Un and his daughter Kim Ju Ae, amid calls for North Korean military forces to be prepared for a potential military conflict.

Demonstration of the New Tank’s Capabilities
During the exercises organized by Kim Jong Un, a raid was conducted to capture enemy defensive positions. The main feature of the maneuvers was the demonstration of the technological advantages of the new tank: the vehicle was able to intercept all anti-tank missiles and neutralize drones that attacked it from various directions.
“The tank intercepted 100% of the anti-tank missiles and drones that attacked it from different positions and directions,” reported the KCNA agency, adding that this proved the effectiveness of the tank’s “active protection system.”
According to the developers, it took seven years to create this model of the tank, with a primary focus on enhancing its survivability and adapting it to modern combat conditions.
The Role of Kim Ju Ae and Analysts’ Reactions
In photographs released by state media, the North Korean leader is seen personally testing the new tank alongside his daughter. In the images, Kim Ju Ae is peeking out from the hatch of the combat vehicle, although her involvement is not emphasized in the news text. South Korean analysts believe that Kim Ju Ae is gradually stepping into the spotlight as a potential successor to her father.
Professor Lim Il-chol from the Institute of Far Eastern Studies at KenNam University notes that the girl is no longer just a passive observer but is beginning to shape the image of a future warrior and commander.
Kim Jong Un emphasized that the new technology will be fundamental for modernizing the North Korean army’s night operations. According to him, the main goal is to enhance the combat capability of the military in the face of modern challenges.
In recent years, North Korea has been actively modernizing its military forces: from developing new drones and munitions to improving missile systems. At the same time, the North Korean leadership is ignoring international sanctions, strengthening its defense capabilities.
For its part, the United States claims that North Korea is gaining significant combat experience by supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine. In North Korea, participation in this war is actively promoted as an opportunity to become a “martyr” and achieve “eternal life.”
