New Temporary Train to Connect Chop and Lviv in July: Schedule and Ticket Prices

A new temporary train No. 218/217 has started operating in Ukraine, connecting Chop with Lviv. Its launch is scheduled for three dates in July — the 17th, 19th, and 25th. Tickets for all trips, including for July 19 from Chop, are already available for sale at a price of 305.28 UAH in first-class cars.

Features of the New Experimental Route

According to official information from “Ukrzaliznytsia”, the new train will operate in test mode to assess passenger flow between the Transcarpathian and Lviv regions. The train cars have a compartment layout with seating without sleeping arrangements: odd-numbered seats are located by the window, while even-numbered seats are by the aisle.

“During the summer period, the demand for travel between regions increases — therefore, in test mode, an additional daytime train No. 218/217 will operate on July 17, 19, and 25 to connect Transcarpathia with Lviv region,” the statement reads.

Train Schedule and Stops

Departure from Chop is at 10:30 AM, arriving in Lviv at 3:18 PM. The return trip from Lviv departs at 3:56 PM and arrives in Chop at 8:38 PM. The route includes stops at the following stations:

  • Batovo
  • Mukachevo
  • Svalyava
  • Volovets
  • Slavske
  • Skole
  • Striy

Tickets for this train are sold in first-class cars in both directions at a price of 305.28 UAH.

Tickets can be purchased through the “Ukrzaliznytsia” app, on the carrier’s official website, or at railway ticket offices.

The launch of temporary trains allows for meeting the increased demand for travel during peak periods, such as holidays, vacations, or breaks, when regular routes cannot handle the load.
