Who is Eligible for the New Assistance

Parents or official guardians with whom the newborn child resides permanently are entitled to receive the new childbirth assistance. One of the parents or guardians can submit the application for the payment. For children under full state care, these funds are credited to a deposit account and become available upon reaching adulthood.

Additionally, uninsured women are entitled to a monthly assistance of 7,000 hryvnias, which is paid in connection with pregnancy and childbirth.

“According to Ukrainian legislation, the new child payments in 2026 amounting to 50,000 UAH are provided for children born after January 1, 2026”.

Procedure for Applying for Child Payments

The assistance can be applied for through the state online service “eMaljatko” in the “Diia” app or in person at the Pension Fund of Ukraine office. The application can be submitted immediately after the baby is born. If the birth certificate has not yet been issued, the electronic service can be used. If the birth certificate is available but there is no access to “Diia”, one should contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine. In the case of childbirth abroad, official documents from the country of residence should be added.

Monthly Payments in 2026

Starting in 2026, the procedure and amounts of monthly assistance will change. For children under one year old, the monthly payment amount is 7,000 hryvnias, and for children with disabilities, it is 10,500 hryvnias. After the child turns one year old, the amount of assistance depends on whether the mother is on maternity leave or returning to work:

  • maternity leave up to three years – 7,000 UAH per month;
  • returning to work – 8,000 UAH under the “eYasla” program (for a child with a disability – 12,000 UAH).

Additionally, the “Baby Package” program remains in place. Its amount increases to 8,451 hryvnias, which is more compared to the previous year.

For children born before January 1, 2026, the old rules remain in effect: the total amount of assistance is 41,280 UAH, of which 10,320 UAH is paid immediately, and the remainder is paid over three years at 860 UAH per month.
