NERC Increased Water Tariffs for Businesses: New Rates for Non-Household Consumers

The National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Public Utilities (NERC) has decided to change the tariffs for centralized water supply and wastewater disposal for non-household consumers. The relevant decision was made during a meeting on December 30.

Reasons for the Tariff Changes

“Factors influencing the tariff changes include the increase in electricity costs, changes in labor costs, and the updating of expenses related to obligations under loan agreements with international financial organizations,” the commission reported.

The update of tariffs is explained by a number of factors, including the rise in electricity costs, the need to review labor costs, and the alignment of financial obligations to international creditors.

New Tariffs for Water Utilities

New tariffs for centralized water supply and wastewater disposal services have been established for 37 water supply and sewage enterprises serving non-household consumers. The cost of water supply will range from 19.79 UAH per cubic meter (Lutskvodokanal) to 70.01 UAH per cubic meter (Pavlograd Production Management of Water Supply and Sewage).

The tariffs for wastewater disposal have also been changed: the lowest tariff will be 5.14 UAH per cubic meter (Energoresurs JSC), while the highest will be 52.25 UAH per cubic meter (Nikopol Production Management of Water Supply and Sewage).

In addition, the regulator approved wholesale tariffs for centralized water supply and wastewater disposal for 25 licensees that sell water or provide wastewater treatment services to other enterprises in the industry.
