Representatives from KAB, a leading operator in the social housing market in Denmark, along with the organization “Ukrainian Houses for All” (UHFA), held discussions with the leadership of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration regarding the possibility of introducing Scandinavian approaches to the region’s recovery and improving living conditions for the residents of the region.

Danish Experience and Investments for Sustainable Recovery
KAB has over a century of experience in social housing construction. During this time, the company has built about 20% of the entire social housing stock in Denmark. Now, the organization aims to adapt its practices for Ukraine to provide quality and affordable housing for the residents of Mykolaiv region.
Pilot Projects for Youth and Families
UHFA has already prepared a number of pilot initiatives for the region. In particular, it is planned to:
- build 50 apartments for young people who wish to stay in Ukraine or are returning from abroad;
- create 50 small houses for families interested in stable housing;
- implement another 50 apartments in collaboration with international organizations for the further development of housing infrastructure.
“The funds raised for construction remain in Ukraine and are reinvested into new housing programs. This creates a closed financing system that ensures sustainable development.”
The main principle that UHFA adheres to is the use of attracted investments for sustainable development: all funds remain in the country and are directed towards new housing programs, creating an effective financial model for the development of social housing in Mykolaiv region.
