In Ukraine, the state social program supporting single pensioners aged 80 and over, who require constant care and live without relatives or guardians, continues to operate. For such citizens, a monthly pension supplement of 944 hryvnias is provided.

Conditions for Receiving the Monthly Supplement
According to current legislation, pensioners who meet several criteria are entitled to additional financial support:
- have reached the age of 80;
- live independently, without relatives or caregivers;
- require constant external care due to health conditions;
- receive a pension solely based on age (without other grounds such as disability or additional social payments).
If an individual has a disability status or receives other social payments, the right to this supplement is lost. The amount of monthly assistance for single pensioners is 40% of the minimum subsistence level for non-working individuals. As of June 2025, this minimum remains at 2361 hryvnias, and the supplement is 944 hryvnias.
How to Apply for the Additional Payment
To receive the monthly supplement, it is necessary to contact the social protection authorities or the Pension Fund of Ukraine. The following documents are required for submission:
- application for assistance;
- passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
- identification code;
- conclusion from the medical advisory commission (MAC) confirming the need for external care.
“Without medical confirmation of the need for care, it is impossible to grant the supplement. This document becomes the key evidence of the need for additional support”.
Support for single pensioners is of particular importance due to the gradual aging of Ukrainian society. For many elderly people, this assistance is not only financial but also an important psychological support.
