Military tax in 2026 increased by 25.9% and reached 60.2 billion UAH

In the first four months of 2026, military tax revenues to the state budget of Ukraine significantly increased, reaching 60.2 billion UAH. This is 12.4 billion UAH more than in the same period of 2025, indicating a growth of 25.9%.

Regional distribution of revenues

The largest amounts of military tax were paid by taxpayers in Kyiv — 19.8 billion UAH. Dnipropetrovsk region provided 6.4 billion UAH, Lviv region — 4.8 billion UAH, and Kharkiv region — 3.9 billion UAH.

Future changes in military tax allocation

The Verkhovna Rada has already approved in the first reading bill No. 15167, which provides for changes to the Budget Code of Ukraine regarding the allocation of military tax. If the document is finally adopted, from January 1, 2027, all collected military tax funds will go to a special fund of the state budget. This fund is intended for targeted financing of the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Military tax revenues to the budget compared to last year increased by more than a quarter – 25.9%. In January – April 2026, taxpayers paid 60.2 billion UAH in military tax. Last year, for the first four months, it was 12.4 billion UAH less,” the message states.
