The Japanese investment company Metaplanet has completed the acquisition of 319 BTC, spending approximately $26.4 million on this transaction.

The transaction took place on April 14, 2025, at which time it amounted to about 3.78 billion yen. The average cost of the acquired bitcoin was 11.85 million yen, equivalent to $82,649. The company’s total bitcoin portfolio now consists of 4,525 BTC.
Investment Results of Metaplanet
The report noted that the company’s total expenses for forming its cryptocurrency portfolio reached 58.15 billion yen ($405.7 million) with an average cost of 12.85 million yen ($89,563) per bitcoin. The estimated total reserves of Metaplanet in 4,525 BTC amount to $385.5 million.
Investment Return Dynamics
Additionally, the company presented data on the returns of its bitcoin investments:
- from July 1 to September 30, 2024 — 41.7%;
- from October 1 to December 31, 2024 — 309.8%;
- from January 1 to March 31, 2025 — 95.6%;
- quarterly from April 1 to April 14 — 6.5%.
Currently, according to TradingView data, bitcoin is trading at approximately $85,200. Interestingly, Metaplanet also acquired 160 BTC for $13.3 million on April 2.
Furthermore, the company has included Eric Trump, son of U.S. President Donald Trump, in its newly established Strategic Advisory Board, citing his “business expertise and passion for bitcoin.”
