Occupiers’ Plans for Future Navigation

According to the Center, the occupying administration is preparing to resume transport operations in the port in the spring. Coal is already being delivered by rail to ensure sufficient stockpiles for further transshipment and shipping by sea before the navigation season begins.

This year, there are plans to integrate the Mariupol port into the logistics system of Rostov. In this way, the occupying authorities aim to bring all strategically important facilities under the control of the Russian Federation. Local personnel will only retain technical functions, while financial management and technical decision-making will be handled by the Russian side.
