On March 18, Power Restrictions Will Be Introduced for Industry in Ukraine

On March 18, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, power restriction schedules will be in effect for industrial enterprises across Ukraine. This decision has been made due to the consequences of missile and drone attacks by Russia on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Reasons for Introducing Restrictions for Industry

According to NEC “Ukrenergo,” the forced limitation of electricity supply is related to damage to the energy system as a result of recent massive attacks by the Russian Federation. In particular, due to the destruction of energy facilities, there is a need to balance the load and ensure the stable operation of Ukraine’s energy networks.

“The reason for introducing restrictions is the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on the energy system.”

Current Situation in the Regions

As of the morning of March 17, consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions remained without power. Energy workers continue restoration efforts; however, due to the scale of damage to the energy infrastructure, temporary restrictions for industrial enterprises remain a necessary step for the stable operation of the country’s energy system.

Power restriction schedules do not apply to household consumers and are exclusively implemented for the industrial sector.
