Famous Lviv blogger Nicholas Karma, whose popularity grew due to his participation in the show “How Much Does Your Look Cost?”, shared with his followers the story of a three-year battle with severe neck pain. After an unsuccessful somersault three years ago, he was diagnosed with a cervical spine herniation, which significantly affected his quality of life.

Three Years on Painkillers and a Difficult Decision About Surgery
Nicholas recounted that for a long time he was forced to take painkillers and undergo therapy; however, the pain and numbness in his arm regularly returned. Doctors advised against surgery due to the very high risk of complications, as the procedure would take place near the spinal cord. The risk of paralysis in such a case was assessed as 50-50, which led to caution from medical professionals both in Ukraine and Poland, where the blogger sought consultation.
“In response, I heard: ‘Absolutely not. The risk of paralysis is 50-50.’ Since the spinal cord is nearby, there is a risk of affecting it,” Nicholas noted.
According to the blogger, for the last three years he lived practically on constant therapy, and when the pain returned, he underwent new courses of treatment and rehabilitation.
Physical Activities Worsened His Health Condition
Any physical activities, even minor ones, negatively affected his well-being. In particular, during a solo concert on March 8, an unsuccessful backflip ended with Nicholas experiencing sharp pain in his neck and chest, but he completed the performance despite the discomfort. Even a short hopak dance performed at the memorial concert for Stepan Higa led to increased pain, causing the blogger to take painkillers that evening.
Nicholas Karma urged his followers to pay close attention to his story, noting that such an experience could serve as an important warning for others.
