By the end of 2024, the undisputed leader in grocery retail in Ukraine remained the ATB chain, which had 1,257 stores. Throughout the year, the retailer opened 47 new outlets and renovated another 11 locations.

The Fozzy Group, which manages the “Silpo,” “Fora,” and other chains, opened 84 new stores while closing 32. As a result, the number of stores operated by the company reached 826, exceeding pre-war figures by more than 100 locations.
Performance Results of Other Retailers
In third place for development was the Clever Stores chain, which opened 87 new outlets, reaching a total of 315 stores. It is also worth noting the VolWest Group, which develops the “Nash Krai” and SPAR chains through a franchising model. This company showed an increase of 28 stores, and as of December, it had a total of 276 outlets.
Also included in the top five largest retailers is the “Myasomarket” chain, owned by the agricultural holding MHP. Throughout the year, the company opened 32 new stores and had 273 locations.
Geographical Distribution of New Stores
It is worth noting that about 36.8% of new stores were opened in western Ukraine. In the capital and Kyiv region, new outlets accounted for 24%, central regions – 22%, while northern and southern regions accounted for 7.6% and 7.9% respectively. The eastern regions of the country showed the smallest growth, at only 1.7%.
