A Large-Scale Hack of Electronic Systems Recorded in Ukraine: What Is Not Working

In Ukraine, on April 26, as of 9:30 AM, there is a serious malfunction affecting several electronic systems. In particular, the “Diia” application is not functioning. In public transport across the country, contactless payment via Apple Pay and Google Pay is also unavailable.

This is reported by Finway

Issues have also arisen in the “Nova Poshta” application, where a network connection error has been recorded.

“There are indeed some difficulties. Currently, there are issues with taxi payments and P2P. The widespread problems are not on our end; everything is operating normally for us,” explained monobank.

In “Diia”, it was reported that the cause of the malfunction was technical updates at one of the major data processing centers.

“To prevent such situations from affecting service availability, we have proactively established interactions with several data centers. The team is currently working to restore the services promptly,” stated “Diia”.

Additionally, “Oschadbank” is also experiencing technical failures, temporarily making contactless payment for metro turnstiles unavailable. Bank specialists are already working to resolve the issue, as reported by Kyiv City State Administration.

Representatives of public transport in other cities advise carrying cash. For example, it was reported in Kramatorsk that payment for rides via terminals is not possible.

In “Nova Poshta”, it was stated that they plan to restore service operations by 10:00 AM.

“The services of Nova Poshta are temporarily not working due to technical difficulties on the contractor’s side. We emphasize that this is not a hacker attack. As of 9:00 AM, the issue is being resolved. We expect all services to be operational again by approximately 10:00 AM. We will provide updates as necessary,” the company noted.

Thus, at this moment, the “Diia” application is also not working, and an attempt to access it results in the message “Unfortunately, an error has occurred”.
