This information was announced by the director of the National Scientific Center “Institute of Agricultural Economics,” Academician of the NAAS Yuriy Lupenko.

In 2024, the same set of products cost 1422.05 UAH. The prices for Easter bread, eggs, milk, butter, flour, and sugar have increased the most. In particular, the cost of homemade Easter bread (made with 700 g of flour, 6 eggs, 150 g of butter, 300 g of milk, 400 g of sugar, 40 g of yeast, and 200 g of raisins) will be 232.96 UAH per kg, which is 29.6% more than last year when the price was 179.80 UAH.

The reason for the increase in the price of Easter bread is the rise in the cost of key ingredients: eggs have increased by 47.1%, butter by 37.8%, milk by 15.5%, flour by 62.4%, and sugar by 16.8%.

The smallest increases were seen in the prices of yeast (+8.7%) and raisins (+12.2%). Regarding meat products, according to calculations, homemade sausage (0.5 kg) costs 212.5 UAH, which is equivalent to 400-450 UAH per kg, while the price of boiled pork (0.5 kg) is 303 UAH (578-634 UAH per kg). The price of lard has remained approximately the same as last year – 0.5 kg will cost up to 123 UAH (230-250 UAH per kg). Compared to 2024, the prices for boiled pork have increased by 16.5%, for sausage by 6.3%, and for lard by 2.5%.

As for dairy products, the most significant price increases were for hard cheese (0.5 kg) to 287.5 UAH (550-600 UAH per kg) and butter (0.5 kg) to 276.5 UAH (104.9-115.07 UAH for a 200 g pack). Soft cheese (0.5 kg) costs 120 UAH (200-250 UAH per kg). Compared to 2024, the prices for hard cheeses have increased by 8.5%, for soft cheeses by 11.6%, and for butter by 37.8%.

The price of horseradish (200 g) is 27.5 UAH, and the price of salt (150-200 g) is 7.47 UAH. If the Easter basket is supplemented with other optional ingredients, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, and red wine (cahors), its cost may rise to 2009.76 UAH, which is 21.7% more than in 2024 when a basket of this composition cost 1652.05 UAH.

Vegetables have also significantly increased in price: if last year tomatoes (0.5 kg) cost up to 50 UAH, in 2025 their price ranges from 126 to 189 UAH/kg. The price of cucumbers is 115-210 UAH/kg, which is 80% more than last year. Apples have increased by 60-70%, with an average price of 17.2 UAH for 0.5 kg.

Experts note that the rise in food prices for the festive basket is a consequence of the war, which has led to significant financial and material losses for the domestic economy, a reduction in production, increased energy costs, and complications in the internal movement of goods.
