Imports of Goods to Ukraine in January-April 2026 Doubled Exports

From January to April 2026, the volume of goods imported into Ukraine amounted to $32.2 billion, which is more than twice the export figure, which reached $13.9 billion. This data was released by the State Customs Service.

Import Structure and Main Partner Countries

In the first four months of 2026, 69% of all imported goods to Ukraine were subject to taxation — totaling $22.3 billion. Among the countries that supplied goods to Ukraine, China led with $8.7 billion, followed by Poland with $3.1 billion and Turkey with $2.2 billion.

A significant portion of imports (72%) consisted of three main categories of goods:

  • machines, equipment, and transport — $13.3 billion;
  • fuel and energy products — $5.3 billion;
  • chemical industry products — $4.6 billion.

Export Dynamics and Main Export Items

The largest amount of Ukrainian goods exported in January-April 2026 was to Poland — $1.5 billion, Turkey — $1.2 billion, and Italy — $857 million. The bulk of Ukraine’s exports consisted of food products ($8.5 billion), metals and products made from them ($1.3 billion), as well as machines, equipment, and transport ($1.2 billion).
