Import and Export of Copper in Ukraine Significantly Decreased in January 2026

In January 2026, Ukrainian enterprises noticeably reduced the import of copper and copper products. The value of imports decreased by 20.1% compared to the same month last year, totaling $11.033 million.

Dynamics of Copper Export and Import

According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the export of copper and its products also fell by 28.7% to $4.953 million. In comparison, in December of last year, copper imports amounted to $13.311 million, while exports were $10.318 million. Thus, January saw a decrease in both purchases and the volume of Ukrainian copper supplies to foreign markets.

Statistics from Previous Years

In 2025, Ukraine increased its import of copper and copper products by 23.2% to $173.453 million. Exports during the same period rose by 17.7%, reaching $103.848 million.

In 2024, copper import volumes remained at the previous year’s level of $140.797 million, while exports increased by 22.4% to $88.237 million. Earlier, in 2023, copper imports rose 2.2 times compared to 2022, amounting to $140.795 million, while exports decreased by 20.1% to $72.078 million.
