New Joint Venture in Transcarpathia

The terminal in Batyovo, situated near the border with the European Union, will operate under the new name HHLA Eurobridge Batiovo. The project is being implemented in partnership with the Ukrainian company Fortior Capital LLC. HHLA International GmbH has become the key investor, while its subsidiary METRANS will participate in the development of the infrastructure.

Potential and Further Development

The agreement is currently awaiting approval from the antimonopoly authorities of Ukraine. Once all procedures are completed, HHLA will gain full control over the project and begin the modernization of the terminal. The facility is strategically located at the intersection of major international railway corridors and has access to both broad (1520 mm) and European (1435 mm) gauge tracks.

In the initial phase, the terminal will be able to handle up to 100,000 twenty-foot containers annually, and its capacity can be significantly increased in response to rising demand.
