Hackers Leaked Personal Data of Solana Co-Founder After Ransom Refusal

Hackers released personal data of Raj Gokal, co-founder of the Solana project, after he refused to pay a ransom of 40 BTC. The information became available through a hacked page of the music group Migos, which has over 13 million followers.

In posts on the hacked account, the attackers disclosed not only Gokal’s identification but also his passport, as well as other personal data, including his phone number. It is known that the images included seven pictures, notably Gokal with his driver’s license and passport, as well as possibly his wife.

“You should have paid 40 BTC ($4.38 million at the time of writing).”

Additionally, the hackers attached a link to a group on the messaging app Telegram, urging users to spam Gokal. According to the community, the posts remained on the page for about an hour and a half before being deleted, likely after control of the account was regained.

It is worth noting that the attackers also attempted to promote the Migos meme coin, but it is unclear how successful this attempt was. Gokal has not yet commented on the data leak, but on May 20, he had already noted the numerous hacking attempts, urging users to be cautious.

In the comments, users expressed suspicions that this hack might be related to the recent leaks of personal data from Coinbase exchange clients, although there was no confirmation of these assumptions at the time of writing.
