According to Yulia Svyrydenko, the first step will be the implementation of a special electricity supply mechanism for heating and communal services, water utilities, and state mines. This approach will promote stability in payments and help avoid new debts in these sectors.
“The first step is the launch of a special electricity supply mechanism for heating and communal services, water utilities, and state mines. This will stabilize payments and stop the accumulation of debts,” noted the Prime Minister.
Additionally, the approach to distributing funds for heating and communal services is changing. From now on, part of the payments for the services of these enterprises will be automatically directed to pay for electricity, which will enhance financial discipline in the market.
Specific Solutions for Military Units and Involvement of International Resources
Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized that the Ministry of Defense must develop specific solutions for regulating debts and conducting current payments for military units, especially in combat zones.
At the same time, the government instructed the Ministry of Energy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Public Utilities (NERC), and NPC “Ukrenergo”, to work together with international financial institutions to explore possible ways to attract additional resources to settle debts in the balancing electricity market.
Svyrydenko stressed that addressing the issue of debts is critically important for the stable passage of the upcoming heating season.
