The German government has allocated funding for the production and transfer of 15,000 STRILA interceptor drones, manufactured in Ukraine, to the National Guard of Ukraine. This large-scale project is being implemented in collaboration between the German company Quantum-Systems and the Ukrainian company WIY Drones.

Expansion of Production and Personnel Training
The production of STRILA drones will be significantly expanded thanks to the joint efforts of both companies. This was stated in a message from the German embassy. The multimillion-dollar agreement also includes training for operators, the organization of logistical support, and further joint development of unmanned aerial systems. The STRILA interceptor drones are specifically designed to target fast and maneuverable aerial targets.
“The multimillion-dollar agreement also includes training, logistical support, and further joint development of UAVs. The STRILA interceptor drone is specifically designed to engage fast and maneuverable aerial targets,” the embassy noted.
STRILA will be manufactured on the territory of Ukraine. This will enable rapid fulfillment of the needs of the Armed Forces, as well as other security and defense forces of the country.

Specifications and Purpose of the STRILA Drone
According to information from WIY Drones, STRILA is a surface-to-air interceptor drone of the “rocket” type. Its primary task is to neutralize high-speed and maneuverable aerial targets, including Shahed-136/131 drones, reconnaissance “wings,” and other strike drones. STRILA allows for the protection of positions, units, and critical infrastructure from a safe distance.
The drone’s platform ensures quick launch, high approach dynamics, and precise targeting. Built-in integration with WIY software and targeting sources (including radars) allows the operator to receive prompts regarding the direction, altitude, and speed of the enemy target, reducing response time and decreasing the workload on the crew.
The tactical range of STRILA is 14 km, with a maximum flight altitude of 5 km and a maximum speed of 350 km/h.
The contract for the production of drones was signed with the participation of the Chargé d’Affaires of Germany, Maximilian Rush, representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine, and Quantum Systems. The main objective of this initiative is to support Ukraine in its confrontation with Russian aggression.
In December of last year, Quantum Systems and the Ukrainian company Frontline Robotics established a joint defense enterprise, Quantum Frontline Industries (QFI), aimed at creating the first fully automated industrial line in Europe for the production of Ukrainian drones for defense forces. Recently, a heavy ground drone, Mamont, was also presented in Ukraine for logistical operations and evacuation.
