Support for Energy Resilience
A significant portion of this aid will be directed to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund. The funds will expedite the supply of generators, energy equipment, and mobile thermal power plants, which are critical for ensuring a stable electricity supply amid active hostilities and damage to infrastructure.
“Germany is enhancing the resilience of our critical infrastructure by contributing 60 million euros to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund. This funding will help accelerate the delivery of generators, energy equipment, and mobile thermal power plants,” said Svyrydenko.
Deepening Cooperation and New Initiatives
During a meeting with Germany’s Minister of Energy, Kateryna Reiche, Ukrainian representatives discussed preparations for the winter season and enhancing the country’s energy resilience. An agreement was reached to establish a joint energy working group and expand industrial cooperation between the two countries. A Ukrainian-German business forum will take place in Berlin in December, which aims to serve as a platform for new partnerships between companies from both nations.
Additionally, Ukraine proposed that Germany sign an intergovernmental agreement to support investors, similar to those already in place in Denmark, the Netherlands, France, and Switzerland.
The Prime Minister emphasized that macro-financial support for Ukraine remains extremely important under current conditions, and German partners support the use of available assets to provide assistance and bring about a swift end to the war.
