Frontline Communities in Ukraine to Receive Million-Dollar Support for Recovery

Прифронтові громади України отримають мільйонну підтримку від держави та європейський партнерів.

As part of the comprehensive financial support program from the state, each frontline community in Ukraine will receive an average of ₴10 million for recovery and reconstruction. This was announced by the Minister of Community and Territorial Development, Oleksii Kuleba. These targeted funds will be used for the arrangement of shelters, the purchase of special equipment, and the restoration of critical infrastructure.

Collaboration with International Partners

In addition, the Ministry of Development has launched, together with the United Kingdom, Estonia, Canada, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, and Sweden, the second phase of the donor program “Partnership for a Strong Ukraine.” This initiative aims to support communities affected by Russian aggression and will last until October 2027, attracting £150 million (approximately $200 million). The program prioritizes the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions.

Technical Assistance from Belgium

Belgium will also provide Ukraine with €150 million in technical assistance as part of the large-scale international technical assistance project BE-Relieve Ukraine. This initiative will operate until the end of 2028 and will cover the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions, as well as the city of Kyiv. The main areas of the project include the modernization of energy infrastructure, healthcare and social protection, education and employment, as well as support for Euro-integration. Among the priority measures are the transfer of 212 generators for educational institutions, mobile boiler houses for hospitals and communal enterprises, as well as the restoration of medical infrastructure facilities.
