From December 2025, the number of trains between Germany and Poland will increase

Starting from December 14, 2025, rail connections between Germany and Poland will be significantly enhanced: Deutsche Bahn, together with PKP Intercity, will increase the number of long-distance trains from 11 to 17 daily services, representing a 54% increase. This decision is driven by the growing demand for international travel.

New routes and expanded options for travelers

The updated schedule will offer passengers more frequent services between Berlin and Warsaw: trains will run every two hours. New direct routes to Przemyśl, located near the Ukrainian border, as well as to Kraków, will be introduced. For the first time, Leipzig will have a direct daytime train to Kraków and Przemyśl, significantly expanding travel options for residents of Germany and Poland.

In addition to daytime routes, the schedule will include night services: one will operate between Berlin and Przemyśl, and another between Berlin and Chełm. The famous “Chopin” train from Munich will also receive additional carriages to Kraków and Przemyśl, allowing for more passengers on these routes.

Reduced travel time and new stops

Thanks to these innovations, the journey between Leipzig and Wrocław will be reduced to three and a half hours. Residents of Munich, Nuremberg, and Frankfurt will be able to reach Wrocław approximately two hours faster due to convenient transfers in Leipzig. The new route will also include stops in Chemnitz and Dresden, allowing for more cities to be covered along the way between the two countries.
