Five Companies Account for 87% of Sugar Exports from Ukraine in 2024-2025 Marketing Year

In the 2024-2025 marketing year, the main exporters of sugar from Ukraine are five leading producers, which together accounted for 87% of the total export volume. The list of leaders includes “Radekhiv Sugar,” “Astarta-Kyiv,” “Ukrprominvest-Agro,” “Aspik Group,” and “Teofipol Sugar Plant.”

Dynamics of Sugar Plant Operations in the Season

This season, 27 sugar plants will operate, which is two fewer than last year and three fewer than in the 2023-2024 marketing period. The sugar production season began in September; however, this year, the Kapitansky and Krasyliv sugar plants will not participate in production. Additionally, for the second consecutive season, the “Svitank” Agrofirm plants in the Kyiv region are not operational.

Production Forecast and Meeting Domestic Demand

According to forecasts, approximately 1.5 million tons of sugar will be produced in Ukraine in the 2024-2025 marketing year. This is 300 thousand tons less than last season. At the same time, this volume allows for the complete satisfaction of domestic demand, which is estimated at around 900 thousand tons.
