Five Communities in Lviv Region to Receive Government Funding for Housing for IDPs

The Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine continues to implement the program for creating housing funds for internally displaced persons (IDPs). Within the framework of the state subsidy, special commissions operate in the regions to review applications from communities for funding to implement housing projects.

This is reported by Finway

“In Lviv region, the commission has already identified the first communities whose initiatives meet the program’s conditions. Out of seven submitted applications, five territorial communities – Velyklyubinska, Novoyarychivska, Komarnivska, Novorozdilska, and Yavorivska – received positive decisions.”

Inclusivity as a Key Condition of the Program

The main requirement of this initiative is to ensure housing accessibility for people with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility. At least 20% of housing units in the projects must be adapted to their needs. If this condition is not met, the funding application will not be considered.

Government Funding and Program Budget

According to government resolution No. 301 dated March 6, 2026, 1.5 billion hryvnias have been allocated for the implementation of the program. Of this amount, 1 billion hryvnias will be directed to the repair and equipping of housing facilities, while another 500 million hryvnias is earmarked for the purchase of housing in rural communities for the temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons.

As of May 1, Ukraine has already begun reserving funding through housing vouchers for IDPs who have relocated from temporarily occupied territories. The program aims to support the most vulnerable segments of the population and facilitate their comfortable living in new communities.
