Firewood Prices in Ukraine Increased in October 2025: How Much Does a Cubic Meter Cost

In October 2025, the price of firewood in Ukraine significantly increased, surpassing the levels recorded in the summer. This rise in prices is associated with an increase in demand for solid fuel at the beginning of the heating season, as well as rising costs for harvesting and logistics.

Price Dynamics of Firewood in Autumn

According to Mykola Kovalenko, a forester from one of the forestry enterprises in Kyiv region, there were still stocks of firewood available in August, which kept prices lower. However, with the arrival of October, the prices for different types of wood significantly increased.

“In August, there was still some stock available, so prices were lower than at the beginning of the heating season. However, since the beginning of October, the price of firewood has risen due to increased demand, as well as costs for harvesting and logistics,” Kovalenko said.

Current Prices for Solid Fuel

Since the beginning of October, the price of firewood has increased by 200–600 hryvnias per cubic meter, depending on the type of wood. In August, hardwoods were sold for 1,700–2,200 UAH/m³, while now their price is approximately 1,800–2,600 UAH/m³.

Coniferous species were priced at 900 to 1,100 UAH/m³ at the end of summer, and now the starting price has risen to 1,300 UAH/m³.

Softwood species have also become more expensive. Previously, they cost 900–1,100 UAH/m³, and now a cubic meter will cost at least 1,300 hryvnias.

It is expected that firewood prices may remain high until the end of the heating season, as the demand for solid fuel traditionally increases during the autumn-winter period.
