FanDuel and CME Group to Launch Sports and Finance Prediction Market in December 2025

FanDuel and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) have announced the launch of the FanDuel Predicts mobile app, which will allow users to trade contracts on events across various sectors. The official launch of the platform is scheduled for December 2025.

Features of the New FanDuel Predicts Platform

With the new app, users will be able to buy and sell contracts on the outcomes of sports events, including baseball, basketball, football, and hockey. In addition to sports, FanDuel Predicts covers financial instruments: S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 stock indices, commodities (oil, gas, gold), cryptocurrencies, as well as macroeconomic indicators, including GDP and the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

In the companies’ press release, it was noted that in U.S. states where online sports betting has not yet been legalized, users located outside tribal territories will be able to trade contracts on the outcomes of sports events. After the legalization of betting in a state, access to these contracts will be discontinued.

“FanDuel will expand its user protection program to the FanDuel Predicts app, providing tools for responsible trading, risk management, and expense tracking.”

Safety and Innovation for Users

FanDuel is integrating an enhanced user protection program into FanDuel Predicts, which includes providing effective tools for responsible trading management, risk control, and tracking personal expenses. The app will also feature educational materials on how the prediction market operates and the specifics of buying and selling contracts.

Users will be able to set their own deposit limits and customize notifications that will apply to all FanDuel products. Additionally, there will be a self-exclusion option for those who need extra control over their activity.

To operate on the FanDuel Predicts platform, each user must undergo a KYC (Know Your Customer) procedure, which includes providing basic personal and banking information. Trading in the prediction market will be conducted with contracts priced between $0.01 and $0.99.

It is worth noting that recently Romania blacklisted the prediction platform Polymarket due to unlicensed gambling activities.
