Comparison with Last Year and Export Dynamics
In comparison, in 2024, by the same date, August 12, Ukraine had already exported 4.962 million tons of grains and legumes, of which 1.26 million tons were shipped in August. This indicates a significant lag in current export rates compared to last year. In July 2025, the total volume of agricultural product exports was 3.4 million tons, which is 4.2% less than in June. The main export goods remain grain crops, oilseeds, and their processed products.
Harvest and the Impact of Weather Conditions on Crop Quality
Ukrainian farmers had harvested 22.4 million tons of grains and oilseeds by August 8, including 14.91 million tons of wheat. However, last year by this date, over 28.5 million tons had been threshed, indicating a decrease in this year’s yield.
Weather conditions have significantly affected the quality of the harvest — heavy rainfall in July and early August negatively impacted the condition of wheat in western and northern Ukraine. This led to a decrease in prices for feed grain by ₴300–400 per ton over the week, to a level of ₴9,650–9,800 per ton. The price of food wheat remained at ₴10,700–10,900 per ton.
